Carole Gough
Coordinator
Having worked for over 11 years in Children Centre’s, I was thrilled to be offered the role as
co-ordinator of The Place.
I understand the demands and challenges of being a parent both through my own personal experience of bring up 3 sons and through supporting many families as an outreach worker. I understand the need for families to have somewhere to go where they can feel listened too and welcomed.
My previous experience of working within a school and also a pre-school, where I was able to complete my NVQ 3 in Childcare, has also widened my knowledge, with various training courses enabling me to facilitate Family Links Parenting Courses and Baby Massage.
I understand the importance of the The Place being part of the community, and very much value the relationships built up with families who attend our sessions. It is such a privilege to be part of a family’s journey, even if its just for a short time.
Laura Loveridge
Early Years Practicioner
Hello I'm Laura...
I have been working with The Place since August 2021. My family and I have recently returned to the UK after living abroad for 10years. We have 3 young children and whilst I grew up in Oxfordshire, we are new to Faringdon.
I have a background in nursing and midwifery and whilst living abroad I ran a playgroup and supported my children’s preschool in various roles. I thrive off helping other people, especially expectant and new mums, as I know what a challenging, as well as enjoyable time this can be.
I am passionate about giving children and families the best possible start in life and feel honoured I am able to support the community in my role here at The Place. I hope to get to know our families and help The Place continue to provide the best supporting environment for our local community.
In my spare time I enjoy sports, getting out and about and spending time with family and friends. I love to travel but of course that is on hold for now!
Ashley Brown
Early Years Practitioner
Hello! I’m Ashley and I work on a Thursday at The Place.
I live in Longcot with my husband Rob, our little boy Buddy and our little girl Luca.
I was delighted to join The Place team back in November 2019. As a local resident but also as a parent, I know how important the sessions we run can be and having the opportunity to get regular support and meet likeminded people really helps on those tough days!
I also work in a Public Health team in London and have worked for the past 13 years helping families and individuals to improve their health, through a range of projects around healthy eating, physical activity and other lifestyle behaviours. I am passionate about helping others and have completed a degree in Health Related Exercise and Fitness, followed by a masters in Public Health and Physical Activity.
I really value the relationships with all the families that attend The Place and the little community that has been created and aim to support families from all walks of life. I can't wait to meet you all!
